So, a domain name is a name given to a collection of network devices that belong to domain which is an administrative space managed according to some common characteristics of the members. The examples are google.com, friendster.com, anne-ahira.net, the-business.cn, and many more.
Oops, I almost forget to tell you about this. Every domain name ends in a top-level domain (TLD) name, which is always either one of a small list of generic names (three or more characters), or a two-character territory code based on ISO-3166 (there are few exceptions and new codes are integrated case by case). Top-level domains are sometimes also called first-level domains. The TLD is like .com (usually use), .net (usually for network), .info, .org (usually for organization), .biz, .name, and many more. Each of them has different price to buy it.
Okay... Now I will explain to you about hosting. To explain this, I will give you an illustration to make it easier to you to understand. You have television, right? How can you make that television become ON? What do you need? Electricity... Yes, you got it! Hosting is the same as electricity. To make your domain can be viewed by another people at World Wide Web (WWW), you need a hosting. Have you understood already?
Hosting also has a lot of types depends on their disk space, bandwidth, server, price and many more. So, you must find the hosting that suitable with what you need.
